Glass-Fibre Reinforcement

Adding glass fibre raises stiffness, strength, heat resistance and dimensional stability — at some cost to toughness. The percentage (e.g. GF30) states the loading.

What it is

Glass-fibre reinforcement blends short glass fibres into a polymer matrix. The loading is given as a percentage — GF30 means 30% glass fibre by weight. Common with engineering polymers such as PA6, PA66 and PBT.

What it changes

Reinforcement sharply increases stiffness, tensile strength, heat-deflection temperature and dimensional stability, while reducing toughness and elongation. It makes a polymer suitable for structural and under-the-hood parts that unfilled grades cannot serve.

On Sinox products

Glass-fibre-reinforced recyclate states its GF content as a spec value, so you can match stiffness and thermal requirements directly. Browse reinforced grades via the Product-Finder.
