What is TPU regranulate?

TPU regranulate is a recycled plastic produced by reprocessing pure thermoplastic polyurethane.

The recycled material usually comes from industrial waste or single-type production residues and represents a sustainable source of raw materials. It is ideal for applications that require a flexible, durable, and cost-efficient technical plastic.

Our TPU regranulate is available in various grades.

Further information on the available grades can be found on the linked pages.

Environmentally friendly materials

TPU regranulate is a sustainable alternative to virgin material, as it is obtained from purely recycled thermoplastic polyurethane and thus contributes to the conservation of valuable resources.

The recycling of technical thermoplastics such as TPU reduces CO₂ emissions and lowers the use of fossil raw materials. TPU impresses with its excellent elasticity, abrasion resistance, and weather resistance—properties that are largely retained even when recycled. This makes TPU regranulate ideal for applications in injection molding or extrusion where flexibility, durability, and resilience are crucial.

The energy-efficient processing of recyclate compared to the production of virgin material further reduces the impact on the environment.

TPU regranulate thus makes a valuable contribution to the circular economy and the sustainable use of technical plastics.

Features

TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) is a high-performance, elastic thermoplastic characterized by high tear and abrasion resistance, excellent flexibility, and good weather and oil resistance. It also offers good resilience, even at low temperatures, and has excellent mechanical properties – ideal for applications where continuous stress, elasticity, and wear resistance are required.

How is TPU regranulate produced?

TPU regranulate is produced by shredding single-type TPU molded parts or production residues using industrial mills. This produces uniform plastic flakes or granules that are ideal for further processing.

Careful pre-sorting, cleaning and, if necessary, demetallization of the source material are crucial for the quality of the recycled material. The result is a high-quality, reusable raw material that is ideal for technical and elastic applications.

Advantages

TPU regranulate offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to virgin material without compromising on material properties. The use of recycled materials significantly reduces the carbon footprint and consumption of fossil resources.

Production is more energy-efficient, which also contributes to reducing the environmental impact. Recyclate delivers comparable performance for numerous technical applications while supporting the development of a sustainable circular economy.
